A note from the new editor-in-chief
I have recently assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief of Insights, succeeding Jasmin Hannonen, who carried out this responsibility with great dedication and achieved excellent results together with the other members of the editorial team and the Faculty’s Communications Planner, Rosa Lampela. I am honoured to continue this work and to contribute to the further development of Insights by drawing on my research and publication experience.
I am currently in the final stage of my doctoral studies and expect to defend my dissertation by the end of this year. My research focuses on copyright law and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In particular, I critically examine whether the EU regulation of text and data mining sufficiently considers the interests related to technological developments and the fundamental freedoms of research and information. Upon completing my dissertation, I will continue my academic career as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Turku.
As Editor-in-Chief, my objective is to enhance the visibility of the Faculty’s research, highlight the achievements of our scholars, and ensure that diverse perspectives are shared openly. This is, of course, a collective effort, and I look forward to working closely with the other editors and specialists involved in the publication process to further strengthen the portal.
I warmly invite colleagues and students to contribute to Insights, so that it may continue to grow as a collective voice of our Faculty and gain recognition both nationally and internationally.
