Writer’s instructions
Insights is a professional publication channel of the Faculty of Law at the University of Turku. Its mission is to disseminate research-based analysis, expert commentary, and professional knowledge on legal developments, case law, legislation, and broader law-and-society issues.
The publication serves the legal professional community, including researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, judges, public authorities, and professionals working with legal matters. All contributions must be grounded in professional expertise and must provide clear added value to the legal field.
- Headlines and Subheadings: Create a headline that attracts interest. You may include subheadings to structure your text.
- Headnote: Begin your text with a headnote of no more than three sentences.
- Text Length: The recommended text length should range between 500 and 1,500 words.
- Citations: Authors must include hyperlinks to their sources within the body of the text when making references. For example: As Diane Otto has argued in her article [“Critically Queer”](insert link).
- Author Presentation and Photo: Attach a brief author bio (2–3 sentences) and a photo of yourself as part of your submission. For example: “The author is… / I research…” If you would like your photo published with your text, please attach it to the email along with any relevant links to your online presence.
- Keywords: Include three to five keywords at the end of your text.
- Related Works: If you have written about the topic elsewhere, you may add a link to a related scientific article at the end of your submission.
- Pictures and Media: If you wish to include pictures, use only material you have the rights to publish. Photos and illustrations should be delivered in JPEG format along with your text. If you are interested in submitting other media formats, such as videos or podcasts, please contact the editor-in-chief.
